This guide provides clear, step-by-step instructions on how to back up and sync your iPhone messages—including text messages, iMessages, and WhatsApp messages—using iCloud. Following these steps ensures that your conversations are securely stored in the cloud, allowing for easy restoration and access across multiple devices.
Launch the Settings app on your iPhone.
Tap on your username at the top of the Settings menu.
Then, tap iCloud.
Scroll down to Messages.
Toggle the switch to the ON (green) position to begin syncing your text messages and iMessages with iCloud.
To also sync your WhatsApp messages, toggle the switch next to WhatsApp to the ON (green) position.

Backing up iPhone messages in an iCloud backup
In addition to syncing messages, backing up your messages ensures that they are preserved in case of a device reset, software update, or other issues. Follow these steps to create an iCloud backup for your iPhone messages.
Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
Tap on your username, then tap iCloud.
Select iCloud Backup or simply Backup from the list.

if iCloud Backup is not already enabled, toggle the switch to the ON (green) position.
If iCloud Backup is already enabled, tap Backup Now to immediately back up your data, including messages.
